The original Ben & Sons was founded in 1962 as a family-owned and operated gas station and auto repair shop, also known as Mexico Unocal 76, in Sacramento, California. It was established by my grandfather, Benjamin Gonzalez Sr., who worked alongside his four sons: Leo, Victor, Benjamin Jr., and Marco.

In 1991, Ben & Sons relocated a few miles away and transitioned to operating solely as an auto repair shop under the name Ben & Sons Auto Tech. The business continued to serve the community until the early 2010s, when my father and uncles decided it was time to retire.

Throughout its years of operation, Ben & Sons built a reputation rooted in integrity, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service. It was a place where customers knew they could trust the work being done on their vehicles.

I grew up watching my father and uncles successfully run the family business and was honored to work at Ben & Sons Auto Tech as a third-generation mechanic. Starting at a young age, I developed a strong passion for working with my hands and learned the value of hard work, honesty, and dedication.

Even though I once considered taking over the family business, I soon realized my true passion was electrical work and in 2008 I became an electrician. With over 18 years of experience in the electrical industry, I am proud to revive the Ben & Sons name and carry forward its legacy—continuing the tradition of integrity, quality craftsmanship, and stand-up customer service for which it has always been known.
